We have gathered a team of young advisers to help you with all your money worries. They are still in school and facing the same dilemmas as you, so they are the perfect people to help you get to grips with personal finance. Find out a bit more about them in their interviews below.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? If you don’t learn about it in school, when you leave you won’t know what to do and it will be much harder — you’ll waste your time having to ask questions.

How do you earn money? Babysitting during school holidays.

What has been your favourite experience of being a Young Adviser? Making friends with the other My Money Young Advisers.

Which celebrity would you have round for tea and what would you ask them? The Queen — I’d ask if I could live with her during the school holidays.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money? Pay off any debts my family might have, use it to save for uni and college, and save the rest.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? So children can learn about money and how they spend it.

What do you spend your money on? Movies, games and clothes.

How do you earn money? I do chores around the house for £5 a week.

What has been your most memorable experience of being a Young Adviser? Doing fun things in the evenings and all the things that we have learnt.

The best thing about school holidays is...going out and sleeping for a long time.

What job would you like when you are older? Engineer

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? Because it teaches us, and gives us knowledge, of what to expect to do in the future, like having to pay tax, national insurance etc.

How do you earn money? I do chores around the house and help my Grandma, I get £20 a month.

What's the best thing you have ever bought yourself? Nintendo Wii

If you were asked to raise money for a charity, how would you do it? Things a lot of people would be involved in like a fun run.

What has been your most memorable experience of being a Young Adviser? Helping to make the game (Fortunity) back in June 2009.

If you won £1million, where would you go? Dubai, Madrid, Morocco, Greece – I like the hot weather!

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money? Buy a sports car, make-up, clothes, shoes, accessories, go on holiday and help my parents with bills.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? Because young people need to learn how to be wise with money.

What job would you like when you are older and why? An actress, because it is a good way to express yourself.

If you were asked to raise money for a charity, how would you do it? Have a sponsored silence, which should make lots of money!

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money? Buy a house, pay off all uni debts and invest the rest and live off the interest.

If I was invisible for a day I would...go to MI5.

Which celebrity would you have round for tea and what would you ask them? I’d have David Cameron round for tea so I could find out what’s happening.

What has been your most memorable experience of being a Young Adviser? Speech training and public speaking.

If you wanted to buy something special (like a digital camera or iPod), how would you earn/save the money? In a money box that I can’t open!

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? Because, as a country, we are in a lot of debt and we don’t want it to get worse.

If you were asked to raise money for a charity, how would you do it? I already do – I have a stall in shops and have already raised £1,500 that was donated to the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, the LOROS and the Laura Centre.

Do you have a job/do you do chores to earn pocket money? If so, what? I do chores around the house and get £10 a week.

If you wanted to buy something special (like a digital camera or iPod), how would you earn/save the money? Get a Saturday job.

Which celebrity would you have round for tea and what would you ask them? Martin Luther King – how can I make real change?

What has been your most memorable experience of being a Young Adviser? The evening activities, like going to see Thriller, and presenting to teachers at the Education Show in Birmingham.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? I believe the current economic situation shows how uneducated people are nowadays on financial educations, and in order to improve out country’s economy, the new generation will have to be educated to turn things around.

Do you have a job/do you do chores to earn pocket money? If so, what? I have a part-time job sitting on a local youth panel for £5 per hour.

What's the best thing you have ever bought yourself? A holiday to New York and Florida.

If you were asked to raise money for a charity, how would you do it? I would use a variety of methods to raise money such as doing a run, or a raffle. I’d contact fundraising organisations to get more ideas.

Which celebrity would you have round for tea and what would you ask them? Nelson Mandela – how did you become such an amazing person?

Age: 12

Do you have a bank account? Yes. I have an 11+ Halifax cash and debit card.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? ? I think it’s important because children need to know that when they are older they won’t have their parents to buy everything for them. They will also have a better understanding of debt and other serious subjects

If I was invisible for a day I would... go round moving and hiding people’s stuff!

What job would you like when you are older and why? I would like to be a paramedic because I’ve been in St John’s Ambulance since I was 5 and I’ve wanted to be a paramedic since I was about 8.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I would build a bungalow for my mum and dad and save the rest for university.

How would you improve your local area if money was no issue?
I would rebuild the local park and give more money to local schools and community projects and finally make the local pool disabled friendly.

If you could ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer one question what would it be? Why is the country in so much debt and how are you going to repay it?

What do you spend your money on? Everything! My most recent purchase was a guitar. I have to choose wisely what I buy.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? Our school’s lessons on finance are almost non-existent; if you want to be able to save and not get into debt then we need financial lessons.

What's the best thing you have ever bought yourself? It has to be Dita (yes, I named my guitar).

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money? Probably put most of it away so I can pay for college/uni and maybe a flat. Then the rest to use as a treat.

Which celebrity would you have round for tea and what would you ask them? Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day): Can you teach me how to play guitar as well as you can?!

Who is your favourite person in the world? My nephew, Jake.

If you won £1million, where would you go? America - Texas and New York

If you had a superpower, what would it be? To be amazingly smart.

If you had one pet, what would it be and what would you call it?
I have the best pet in the world – my cat, Figaro.

Why do you think financial education in schools is so important? Because if we don’t learn these skills now we won’t know how to manage our money in the future.

Do you have a job/do you do chores to earn pocket money? If so, what? I waitress in a local restaurant and I also get a small amount of pocket money from my parents.

What is the best thing you have ever bought yourself? Car insurance as it has given me so much freedom.

If you won £1million, where would you go? On a round-the-world trip as I love travelling.

What changes have you made with handling money since taking part in the My Money programme? I have probably appreciated the value of money more and I take more time considering whether it is worth it before my big splurge in Topshop!!
