The competition

The theme of this year’s competition was My Money, My Future at both the primary and secondary levels. The central challenge of the competition for all age groups was to create a piece of artwork (2D or 3D) which expresses a response to the question:

2040 vision: What will money look like in the future?

This challenge allowed for a very wide range of original responses and learning opportunities in PSHE and Art & Design and builds on other My Money Week classroom activities.

The competition was supported by specially created lesson plans which can still be downloaded as PDFs. There are two lesson plans for primary and two for secondary, each containing full and detailed curriculum links:

  • Primary: focuses on PSHE education (preparing to play an active role as citizens) and art (exploring and developing ideas; investigating and making art, craft and design), with cross-curricular links in history.
  • Secondary: links to art and design (Key Stage 3 and GCSE, focusing on exploring, creating, understanding and evaluating) and PSHE education (key stages 3 and 4, financial capability and economic understanding).
